Shopping and a Mini-Movie

Today I attended a fun event at the Tribeca Grand Hotel, where I was able to speak to my fellow bloggers & beauty editors about Diversion. We invited our attendees to watch the premiere of a new investigative video about the risks associated with purchasing salon products from unauthorized retailers. I truly enjoyed sharing the evening with them and will be sharing the links of our attendees who pledged to join us in our anti-diversion efforts.

Please watch the Investigative Video which was featured at the event:

Please copy the embed code and post on your blog or Facebook page to help us spread the word.

Thank you to all the bloggers and beauty editors who joined us and pledged to help us spread the word!

Check out the picture gallery from the event, I will be adding pictures for the next couple of days.

That makes no sense. How then do mass retailers like Wal-Mart, CVS and Walgreen sell your products at almost every store and not run into you guys? Why hasn't there been any lawsuits? Why do they carry the whole line? Why are they restocked periodically? Every single Walgreen, CVS and Wal-Mart in America is stealing products on the low? It just so happen that you guys don't notice?? Hmm..

I find this video a bit over the top and self promoting. If you want to encourage people to buy your products at your salons, then do so. If you want to accuse retailers such as Target, CVS and Wal-Mart (though not named they are major retailers) of selling shoddy imitations then I suggest you go to court and push it out to the press. Your "reporter" could not find the products cheaper because she did not look and to not list acceptable and "authorized" retailers makes me suspicious of your intentions.

The reason you do not got to court is money. Target and other big box retailers make too much money for you. Unless you want to show specific instances where a client has been harmed by buying your products from anywhere but a salon then please do so with a legitimate news person.

I use only Redken products and like them but this video comes across as BS.

I am a hairstylist. If anyone cared to venture into the subject of illegally selling of these products
you would see that there have been tons of courts cases. DO you expect everyone to keep up with billions of stores. we are people not gods. and it is true. you will pay more in a grocery store and for what?
A friends mother had bought redken from target and used it for a day. there must have been a strong chemical in it because her hair started falling out.
personally, as a stylist, i never push product on anyone. we are simply educating everyone on what is good for their hair. We aren't trying to suck you dry of your money, just trying to make sure that you are completely satisfied with your hair.

Dear EbonyYoungin & Samantha,
Please refer to my post on Quality King– there has a been a lawsuit, and it has been a long hard battle which we are still fighting. As long as consumers continue to shop for professional products at unauthorized retailers, they will find a way to find product to restock their shelves, whether it’s real or counterfeit.

For a list of authorized retailers, please visit the brand websites. They each have a salon locator which lists all of the salons which carry their product lines.
